My mom hated the AI text messages (“It doesn’t sound like you, with you I just expect a ‘GM’”). So in personal relationships, there’s some level of “I know how this person behaves,” and AI deviates from that behavior to a more normal distribution. It’s kinda bayesian in a way, and using AI makes you seem too normal.
I’m working on a project that involves reading therapist conversations. I had a mild dissociative episode because that stuff is scary. AI did that really well, and I didn’t have to deal with the emotional load. Maybe humans are worse than robots at stuff like that (AI is like emotional PPE in a way)
So many jobs that require the right credential are kinda just bullshit busywork. Lots of my friends at Yale admit that the Ivy League is a bit of a cartel.
A lot of what the old generation feels is significant work is kinda busywork. Time is more important than money or sitting in an office, so tech can do things that enable me to “feel retired” at 25.
